Mass Firearms Training

Mass Firearms Training runs NRA and Massachusetts State Police certified courses taught by instructors who compete in shooting sports—not just instructors who teach shooting.

Robert Alpert holds NRA Expert Classification and has attended the Army Marksmanship Unit's Small Arms Firing School twice. Richard Sten carries NRA Master Classification and is a Distinguished Pistol and Revolver Shooter who won the New Hampshire Service Pistol Championship in 2009. Both are MA State Certified.

• •Safety Courses — NRA-certified classes for obtaining a Licence to Carry (LTC) or Firearm Identification Card (FID). Courses include Home Safety, Basic Pistol, and Personal Protection. You hold firearms in the classroom while learning operation and safety.

• •Hands-On Training — Customized lessons for pistol, rifle, and shotgun. Courses include:

• •Introduction to Shooting (stance, grip, aiming, trigger pull)
• •Multi-Gun Shooting (try .22, .25, .38, 9mm, .40, .45 to figure out what works for you)
• •Defensive Shooting Basics (drawing from holster, shooting from barricades, movement)
• •Bullseye Target Shooting (competition fundamentals)
• •Custom curriculums built around your goals

• •Paintball Training — Live-fire scenarios using paintball markers to practice defensive and offensive techniques in realistic situations.

• •Eddie Eagle Program — NRA-designed instruction for kids on the four steps to take if they find a gun.

Class sizes max out at 5 students for safety courses, and private one-on-one lessons are available. With small groups, you get personalized attention and actual hands-on time with firearms during instruction.

All safety courses can be customized to focus on areas you want to develop. As you progress, the curriculum adjusts to match your skill level.
