Full description and what we offer
The Open Outdoor 3D Archery Tournament is unique in Missouri because it's the only tournament open to the public regardless of background, age, or skill level. Held on Saturday, August 2, 2025 at Mark Twain Lake Archery Park in Monroe City, this event draws NASP participants, coaches, parents, community members, archery influencers, semi-professionals, hunters, and outdoor enthusiasts all shooting side-by-side.
Competitors shoot on two directional trail-style ranges:
| Range | Distance | Targets |
|---|---|---|
| North Target Trail | 0.8 miles | 20 targets |
| South Target Trail | 1.1 miles | 20 targets |
| Total Course | 2 miles | 40 targets |
Each archer shoots one arrow per target with scoring rings of 12, 10, 8, 5, and 0 points. Delta McKenzie targets are used, with the low back 12 ring scored unless the upper 12 ring is called. Range finders are allowed, and a yardage sheet is provided at registration.
Multiple divisions ensure everyone finds a fair competition:
Within each division, choose your shooting category:
Yardage limits vary by division and category. Cubs and Youth shoot closer distances (20-40 yards), while Adults and Championship shooters go to 40-50 yards depending on equipment.
The Cub Division scores only your top course between North and South trails, giving younger archers flexibility while preserving competitive fun.
This is a steel deer target with a bullseye hole. You shoot the bullseye, back up 5 yards, and continue. Miss or hit steel, and your attempt ends. Entry is $10 for a raffle ticket, then $5 per miss to keep shooting. Progressive distance categories and raffle prizes give everyone a chance to win.
Youth archers receive 2 tickets at check-in for two rounds of balloon-popping. Five arrows per round, and select a prize once your balloon pops—up to two total prizes.
