Shore Shot Pistol Range

Shore Shot Pistol Range has been running from their Lakewood location since the mid-1990s under the Sherman family. That longevity means something—multiple generations of families have learned to shoot safely here, and the place knows what it's doing.

Shore Shot operates a 25-yard, 12-stall indoor facility with climate-controlled booths and high-volume exhaust systems. The exhaust matters: less smoke, better visibility, more enjoyable shooting. All stalls are properly ventilated so you're not breathing lead particulate all day.

• •Allowed calibers: All pistol calibers plus rifles up to .30-06 at 3600 FPS. No aluminum-cased or steel-cased ammo, no high-powered rifle rounds exceeding 3000 FPS muzzle velocity, and no steel-core ammunition.

They stock a rotating selection of rental handguns and rifles, always adding newer models. • •Rental policy: Minimum two people required unless you bring your own firearm. If you own a gun and bring it, you can rent solo.

They carry firearms and accessories from major manufacturers—Glock, Beretta, Sig Sauer, Smith & Wesson, Staccato, Nighthawk Custom, Atlas Gunworks, Canik, Shadow Systems, Springfield Armory, and more. They special-order virtually anything available to the public and stay competitive on pricing.

• •Ammunition: Full selection of all calibers in stock. Rentals must use Shore Shot ammo. Your own guns can use outside ammo (with restrictions—no Wolf, CCI Blazer aluminum-cased, steel-jacketed, tracer, or corrosive primed rounds).

NRA Certified Range Masters and Instructors staff the facility. Classes range from basic handling and safety to tactical shooting and advanced maintenance.

• •CCW Qualifications: They handle the shooting portion and use-of-force requirement for NJ concealed carry permits:
• •Group sessions: Mondays at 11am, $150
• •Walk-in: Almost hourly during business hours, $200

• •Ladies Night (Tuesday 5pm-10pm): Free shooting, $10 rentals, ammo discounts

• •Veterans/Active Military/First Responders (Thursday 10am-10pm): $10 to shoot, member prices on ammo and rentals (service ID required)
