Royal Trophy Outfitters, operated by Andre Galenda (Outfitter #4350), guides hunters through some of the Southwest's most productive trophy country. The outfit runs dedicated hunts in New Mexico's Unit 15—described as one of the finest trophy elk units in the world—plus mule deer and antelope hunts across Wyoming and black bear hunts in New Mexico.
All Unit 15 tags are guaranteed landowner permits with no drawings required. Hunts run September through December across 25,000 acres of private ranches plus 1.3 million acres of National Forest.
Archery Elk Hunts: - 6-day hunts using ambush, cow calling, and bugling - Hunt mornings and evenings; midday focus on water holes from treestands - Archery hunters must be comfortable shooting to 50 yards - Dates: Sept 1-6, Sept 9-14, Sept 17-22 - Price: $5,495 (2x1 guided) plus landowner tag - 1x1 guided available at $12,000
Muzzleloader Elk Hunts: - 5-day hunts October through December - Modern inline muzzleloaders with scopes and saboted slugs permitted (no smokeless powder) - Morning ambush from treestands and Double Bull blinds on water holes - Expected shot distance: 50-300 yards - Dates: Oct 12-16, Oct 19-26 (2x1 at $5,495 plus tag) - 1x1 guided available at $12,000 - Cow elk hunts available at $2,800 - Draw hunts starting at $5,495
Success Rates: - Archery: 80% opportunity, 60% harvest - Muzzleloader: 70% opportunity, 50% harvest - Trophy bulls range from 280 inches up to 350+ inches
Youth hunts (under 18) run one week before regular muzzleloader season—peak of the rut. Four youth hunters per 5-day hunt. All youth must complete hunter education.
Senior and handicap hunters accommodated. Terrain is rolling hills at 7,500 feet elevation—described as the easiest going elk hunt available.

Lodge 1: 1,800 sq ft home sleeping 12 with hot showers, full kitchen, laundry, satellite TV, 100-yard range for muzzleloader sighting.
Lodge 2: Three-bedroom cabin sleeping 8 comfortably with indoor plumbing, satellite TV, and full amenities.
Both lodges feature full-time cook staff providing hot breakfast, lunch, and dinner. All meals included in hunt packages.
Typical Hunt Day: Wake 4:30am, small breakfast, hunt until 10:30am, return for large breakfast/lunch, hunt again 2:00pm to dark, dinner ready upon arrival.
All hunts include: - Professional 2x1 guided service - All meals and lodging - Skinning and caping services - Field care and meat deboning - On-staff taxidermist services - Verizon cell service at camp
Meat processing available locally for $125. Full taxidermy on staff.
Payment Schedule: - $3,000 deposit at booking - $2,000 second deposit by July 1st - Remainder due in cash at camp
Hunters must arrive day before hunt begins and depart day after. Self-drive to camp (directions provided). Airport transportation not included—rent vehicle required.
Elevation 7,500 feet with rolling hills, junipers, and pinion. Archery season temperatures: 40°F mornings to 80°F afternoons. Muzzleloader season: 30-50°F. Rain possible all seasons.
