Rockdale Rod & Gun Club has been the backbone of shooting sports and outdoor tradition in Mt. Upton since it was established. With over 200 active members, the club operates as a hub for competitive shooters, hunters, and outdoor enthusiasts across central New York.

Membership covers access to all ranges plus exclusive event registration and guest privileges. Each resident member can bring two invited guests to participate in range use. The club requires residency within a 25-mile radius of Mt. Upton for resident membership, though non-resident memberships are available for former members.
The club runs active competitive programs:
Raffle Winners announced monthly – Drawing happens the 3rd Wednesday of each month with crossbow or $450 cash prize.

The club actively works to spread knowledge of fish and game laws, promote responsible and ethical hunting practices, and certify youth in shooting sports safety.
Membership eligibility requires:
1. Primary residence within 25 miles of Mt. Upton, NY (or non-resident status if previously a resident member) 2. Two sponsor signatures from current resident members in good standing for 2+ years 3. Attend at least one club meeting or activity (waivable by majority vote) 4. Membership vote approval at a regular club meeting 5. Annual dues payment by October 1st (set yearly by membership vote)
Non-resident dues are 2.5x resident rates. Non-residents cannot sponsor new members.
The clubhouse, BBQ pit, and surrounding grounds are available for private rental. Rental reservations require a form submitted to the activities committee at least 4 weeks in advance. Fees are set by membership vote and payable in advance.
Club woodlands are available for hunting during small game, archery, and big game seasons. Portable tree stands are allowed with liability waivers and member identification tags (must be removed 2 weeks after big game season closes). Screw-in steps and permanent stands are prohibited.
