Full description and what we offer
Williamson Conservation & Sportsman Club operates a full shooting sports facility in rural Wayne County, about an hour east of Rochester. The property includes a rifle range, dedicated shotgun sports area with trap/skeet/sporting clays, and a newly constructed archery range (approximately 50 yards from shooting bench to berm).
The club runs on a membership model. Current rates:
| Membership Type | Annual Cost | Lifetime Cost |
|---|---|---|
| Family | $70 | $700 |
| Senior (62+) | $40 | $400 |
| Family Lifetime (62+) | — | $400 |
All new members pay a $50 certification and orientation fee. Membership runs January 1 through December 31 and is not prorated. The club accepts personal checks or cash (no credit cards). Payment can be mailed to PO Box 175, Williamson, NY 14589 or dropped off when the clubhouse is open.
2026 Membership Renewals: If you didn't renew by January 31, 2025, your range gate key-card will be turned off. There's a $5 fee to reactivate it.
Orientation covers a safety booklet on rifle range and shotgun sports rules, then hands-on shooting at targets to demonstrate safe gun handling—not accuracy testing.
Free unlimited rounds of sporting clays, trap, and skeet when accompanied by an adult. The club also provides free boxes of 12-gauge or 20-gauge shells every visit. This is one of the club's standout programs.
The club has hosted Gil and Vicki Ash shooting clinics in the past, bringing world-class instruction to members.
Hours: - Thursday: 9 AM to sundown - Saturday & Sunday: 9 AM to 2 PM - Closed Thanksgiving and Christmas
Members receive gate key-cards for access during operating hours.
Members who don't participate in club work days or fail to volunteer time toward club operations incur a $25 annual fee. This policy was adopted in 2006 to increase member participation and distribute the workload across the membership base.
The club is run by elected directors including positions for President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, and specialized directors for Rifle Range, Membership, Safety, Sportsman Education, Adult Education & Training, and Archery.
The club is affiliated with Wayne County SCOPE (Shooters Committee On Political Education) and connects members to hunter safety courses, hunting regulations, and sportsman education through partnerships with the NYS DEC, NSSF, NRA, NSSA, and NSCA.
