Foothills Public Shooting Complex Cleveland County

Foothills Public Shooting Complex is one of the largest public outdoor shooting complexes in the Southeastern United States. Located on 283 Fielding Road in Cherryville, NC (about 30 minutes from Charlotte), they've built something straightforward: multiple ranges that stay open in bad weather because there's always a covered option.

Rifle & Pistol: - Range 1: 250-yard precision rifle (10 lanes, 100–250 yard targets) - Range 3: 50-yard rifle and handgun (18 lanes, moveable targets) - Range 2: 20-yard handgun (12 lanes, weekends only) - Multiple 25×50 and 25×25 multi-purpose ranges

Shotgun & Clay: - Skeet fields - Trap range - 5-Stand ($3 admission + $6/round skeet or trap, $8/round 5-stand)

Steel & Archery: - Steel target range: $10 extra (pistol calibers only, no magnums) - 3D archery range (seasonal) - Year-round practice archery

They run regular competitions including Area 6 Steel Challenge Championship and GSSF matches. Classes include: - NSSF First Shots (beginner, classroom + range time, $40 with eye/ear protection included) - First Saturdays Intro to Skeet ($40, includes one round + instruction) - Intermediate and special interest classes

Parking at each range with handicapped access throughout. Outdoor pavilions, picnic tables, grills, concession area for catering, public restrooms with ADA access.

No .50 BMG, .338 Lapua, binary triggers, or bump stocks. Shotgun function checks allowed on steel range.
