Full description and what we offer
McDougall Firearms opened its retail doors in March 2011 and expanded by December 2012 to meet growing customer demand. The shop is owned and operated by Matt and Ashley McDougall, who bring genuine firearms expertise and community commitment to their business.
Matt maintains his full-time job as a Deputy Sheriff and teaches at several Police Academies. Ashley works part-time for the Village of Antwerp as the EMS Billing Clerk and EMS Coordinator. Both are volunteer EMT's and firefighters—which means you might occasionally see unexpected closures when they respond to emergency calls. It's a trade-off that shows their priorities: community first, store second.
McDougall Firearms has been running Concealed Carry classes since 2004—that's nearly two decades of teaching shooters the legal and practical realities of carrying responsibly.
Semi-Automatic Pistols: Glock, Sig Sauer, Smith & Wesson M&P series, Ruger, Springfield Armory, Taurus, Canik, and specialty options like the Kel-Tec CP33 and Mossberg MC2 SC. Prices range from budget options (Hi-Point CF380 at $155) to premium carry guns (Kimber Micro Covert at $895).
Revolvers: Heritage rough riders, Ruger Wrangler, Charter Arms, and North American Arms in .22 LR through .357 Magnum. Historical models include Cimarron 1911A1 reproductions.
Rifles: 22 LR through 45-70 Government. Stock includes Ruger 10/22, Henry repeaters, AR-platform builds, lever-actions, and precision calibers like 350 Legend and 308 Winchester.
Shotguns: 410 gauge through 12 gauge from manufacturers like Mossberg, Savage Stevens, Rock Island Armory, and specialty models including the Mossberg 590 Shockwave.
Muzzleloaders: Traditional and modern options for hunting season.
Class 3 Suppressors: Full selection of silencers—one of their specialties as a Class 3 dealer.
Stock Note: As of late 2022, many items were out of stock due to market conditions. Call ahead or stop by to check current availability on specific items.
Concealed Carry Certification: The flagship offering. Next class announced for February or March 2023. Payment required in advance to reserve your spot—you must visit the store to register.
Basic Shooting Classes: For beginners getting started.
Competition Training: For shooters working toward higher skill levels.
McDougall works with major distributors including Lipsey's and Gallery of Guns, meaning if they don't have something in stock, they can often order it. Their message is clear: "If you don't see something you want in our inventory, please let us know and we will try our best to get it for you."

You're getting advice from actual law enforcement and medical professionals who understand real-world firearms use. Matt's police academy teaching means he knows what works. Ashley's EMS background means she understands emergency response. Their Concealed Carry classes have been running since 2004—they know what new permit holders need to learn.
This isn't a big-box operation. It's a local shop where the owners are invested in their community.
