The Medina Chapter of the Izaak Walton League has operated since 1951 as part of the nation's oldest conservation network. Founded nationally in 1922, the League maintains a powerful grassroots presence with more than 250 chapters across the USA. The Medina Chapter currently has over 100 members working actively on land stewardship and outdoor sporting programs.
Trap Shooting - Tuesday evenings at 6:30 PM (weather permitting) - Open to the public - $6.00 per round - You provide shells - Contact: Tom Swartz (330-416-8260)
Turkey Shoots - Spring: March through April (Sundays, 9:30 AM) - Fall: September through November (Sundays, 9:30 AM) - Sign-up at 8:00 AM - $4.00 per shoot - Club provides shells - Open to the public
Archery Program - Free events open to ages 9 and up - Scheduled weekends throughout the year - Glow Shoot events also available ($4.00 entry)
Members have planted over 33,000 trees since the chapter's founding. The Ohio State Department of Forestry designated the property as Forest Lands in 1976.
The property includes: - Two lakes (one near clubhouse, one at picnic area) - Wetlands designed for waterfowl - Butterfly garden (planted 2000) - Trap-shooting range - Clubhouse and picnic pavilion - Hiking trails through wooded grounds
Beyond shooting sports, the club hosts: - Free Kids Fishing Party (annual) - Free Outdoor Sporting Days - Free community events (Breakfast with Santa, Easter Bunny) - Bluebird house program and trail monitoring - Participation in Medina County Earth Day - Monthly Pot Luck Dinners (2nd Saturday, 6:30 PM)
