Hammer Down Range sits at 1616 State Route 28 in Loveland, OH—right in the heart of southwest Ohio's shooting community. The facility combines a full indoor shooting range with a dedicated training academy, offering everything from beginner instruction to specialized law enforcement courses.
Their class roster covers the full spectrum of shooter development:
| Class Type | Price | Details |
|---|---|---|
| First Time Shooter | $75 | Individual introductory course |
| First Time Shooter Couple | $140 | Two-person beginner package |
| Personal Trainer | $75 | One-on-one coaching |
| CCW Personal Training | $175 | Concealed carry instruction |
| CCW Combo | $99 | Online training + range test |
| CCW Online + Proficiency Test | $175 | Complete home/range solution |
Beyond the basics, they run HR 218 LEOSA courses for law enforcement officers and CCW proficiency testing—you can now take the proficiency test online instead of traveling to the range.
Hammer Down Range specifically addresses the gap in female shooter training. Their women's-only classes create a low-pressure learning environment that builds confidence in firearm handling and safety. They're expanding the women's program to include advanced classes tailored to female shooter needs—currently in development.
The range is available for individual shooters, group rentals, and league events. They offer three membership tiers:
- •Standard Memberships
- •Oversight Memberships
- •Expert Memberships
Members shoot free—range time is included with membership. This makes repeat training and practice significantly cheaper than pay-per-visit.
Closed Mondays. Open Tue-Sat 12PM-7PM, Sun 12PM-6PM. Call 513-239-7471 or email [email protected] for membership details or class scheduling.
Their training philosophy is straightforward: "Nearly anyone can attain reasonable proficiency with a firearm after minimal instruction, but completing firearms-related courses helps you shoot better, handle stressful situations effectively, maintain your weapons carefully, and prepare for concealed carry responsibilities."
They also offer personal trainer sessions ($75) if you prefer one-on-one instruction over group classes.
