Richland County Fish & Game has been the region's hub for serious sportsmen since 1942. Located at 1360 Poth Rd in Mansfield, this members-only club offers everything from competitive clay shooting to archery and fishing—all on grounds designed for year-round use.
Pistol Range - Covered pistol range with recently raised 15-foot backstops - Year-round protection with enclosed section for winter shooting - Comfortable shooting in all conditions
Rifle Range - Distances: 25, 50, and 100 yards - Permanent shooting benches with overhead cover - Designed for comfortable, consistent practice
Clay Shooting Sports - Trap Shooting: Lighted range running Wednesdays through spring and summer. Doors open 5:30 PM, Annie Oakley competition starts at 6:00 PM with 10-bird protection rounds. - Sporting Clays: Easy walk-around course on club grounds, running spring and summer months
Archery Range - Known-distance targets at 20, 30, and 40 yards - Both ground and elevated shooting positions
Fishing - Two fully stocked ponds - Species: trout, crappie, bass, and perch - Handicapped fishing access available
This is a members-only facility. New applications are accepted only twice per year: - First Wednesday of January at 7:30 PM (membership meeting) - First Wednesday of February at 7:30 PM (membership meeting) - Third Thursday of January at 6:30 PM (board meeting)
You must apply in person. Two current member signatures are required on your application, or you can be interviewed by the board. Year-to-year membership renewal required.
Important: No public access and no free trials. Membership applications follow a priority system: immediate family first, then active/retired military, then returning applicants, then random draw for all others.
Club provides free printable targets including: - NRA B8, B2, B16, B4, MR 31 targets - Specialty targets: squirrel, torso, turkey, bullseye - Training tools: tic-tac-toe, billiards, grid targets
Peak Season: Rifle and pistol ranges close September 27 through end of archery season, except Sundays 1:00–5:00 PM. Full range access resumes after archery season.
The club runs both trap and sporting clays—here's the difference:
For competitive shooting at either discipline, gun selection matters. Trap guns are heavy with tight chokes (usually 12 gauge). Sporting clays guns are lighter, more hunting-focused, with barrels typically 28–32 inches.
