Clatskanie Rifle & Pistol Club

Clatskanie Rifle & Pistol Club is a private member-owned shooting range located in Clatskanie, Oregon, with a rich history dating back to 1944. Founded as a community shooting range in a local cow field and incorporated in 1948, the club has evolved into a well-maintained facility offering diverse shooting opportunities for rifle, pistol, shotgun, and black powder enthusiasts.

The club operates three distinct ranges to accommodate various shooting disciplines:

• •Main Outdoor Rifle Range – Features distances of 15, 25, 50, 100, and 200 yards with range benches and firing positions. Shotgun shooting is permitted in designated areas only (dirt bank discharge).
• •Upper Outdoor Multi-Purpose Range – 60-yard range accommodating pistols, rifles, and shotguns with two backer boards.
• •Indoor Pistol Range – 50-foot facility restricted to pistol calibers (no magnum loads) and .22 rifles only.

Allowed shooting activities include: - Rifle shooting (all distances) - Pistol shooting (indoor and outdoor) - Shotgun shooting (designated areas only) - Black powder and muzzle loader shooting - Silhouette shooting - Competitive shooting events

• •Public Access: The club welcomes the public on the 2nd and 4th weekends of each month from 10 AM to 2 PM, free of charge. Members enjoy daily access from 8 AM to 9:30 PM. The club also accommodates group and organization range rentals for hunter safety education, law enforcement, and other authorized organizations.

New members must complete a safety orientation within 30 days of joining. The club encourages member participation through volunteer opportunities, recommending a minimum of 4 hours of volunteer service every two years, whether through work parties or range duty.
