Full description and what we offer
The Lancaster Archery Foundation, based in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, is a nonprofit organization with a singular focus: expand, develop, and promote 3D and target archery programs nationwide. They fund clubs and programs that introduce kids to competitive archery while building confidence, discipline, and leadership skills.
The Foundation operates through two main grant programs:
In partnership with Easton Foundations, the Foundation launched the "Growing Youth Archery Together" program in 2022. When Easton celebrated its 100th anniversary, they challenged Lancaster Archery Foundation to raise $100,000—and matched every dollar donated in September. The Foundation met the goal, distributing the combined $200,000 to youth archery programs nationwide.
Real Impact: Creek County 4-H used their grant to host a summer archery camp for 45 youth members in 2025. Lititz Area Mennonite School had 7 students qualify for NASP Eastern Nationals in 2025—up from only 2 in previous years—directly attributable to equipment upgrades funded by the Foundation.
The Foundation supports: - 4-H archery clubs (nationwide) - JOAD programs (Junior Olympic Archery Development) - School archery teams (NASP and 3D competitions) - Community archery organizations (like Iron Dragon Kenpo Academy's Golden Eagle Archery Academy in New Jersey) - Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts archery programs - Summer camps and youth development organizations - Competitive archers pursuing scholarships

Rob Kaufhold, president of the Foundation's board of directors, emphasizes their approach: "One of the Lancaster Archery Foundation's main goals is to help small, community clubs get up and running and introduce new kids to archery. Without clubs like Creek County 4-H, maybe the kids who attended this camp might never get the chance to pick up a bow."
The Foundation recognizes that archery equipment costs money, range maintenance requires resources, and many rural communities lack access to facilities. Their grants solve that problem directly—by buying the targets, bows, and arrows that make programs possible.
Transparency: The Lancaster Archery Foundation makes its governing documents, conflict of interest policy, and financial statements available for public review upon request.
The Foundation accepts grant applications from established clubs and programs. Both club and scholarship grants are available, with awards ranging from $1,000 to $5,000+ depending on the program's scope and need.
