Full description and what we offer

Red River Gun Works is a solo gunsmithing operation in Clarksville run by David, a certified armorer with formal training from Sonoran Desert Institute (Associate of Science in Firearms Technology), Modern Gun School's Advanced Gunsmithing Program, Penn Foster's Gunsmith Career Diploma, American Gunsmithing Institute, Glock Armorer certification, and Tactical Edge AR Armorer training.

David works on firearms from 50+ manufacturers including Ruger, Tikka, Glock, Sig Sauer, AR platforms, 1911s, vintage Mausers, and everything in between. He's handled Browning, Remington, Winchester, Henry, Mossberg, CZ, Smith & Wesson, Walther, and restoration work on guns that don't even have names.

Common repairs include:

  • Structural damage: cracks in the chamber, bolt, bolt lugs, or buttstock (his inspection catches these before they become dangerous)
  • Safety mechanism failures: worn sear edges or deformed firing pin tips that could cause unintended discharge
  • Bore obstructions: dented or bent barrels, foreign material inside
  • Improper assembly and missing parts

Processing time varies. Simple jobs might take an hour. Complex repairs or builds requiring parts sourcing can take days to weeks, especially for out-of-production firearms where older parts must be located or fabricated.

Every firearm gets a detailed inspection first. David documents improper assembly, missing or damaged parts, cracks (especially critical areas like the chamber and bolt), safety mechanism issues, bore obstructions, and firing pin condition. After inspection, he estimates parts needs—sourcing new or used parts as available. He'll flag if a gun isn't safe to fire before any work proceeds.
