Grand Prairie Gun Club

Founded in 1962 on leased land in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, this private, member-run club moved to its current site after a member-formed corporation purchased 37 acres adjacent to the original leased property in 1987 and began construction in 1989 with the help of Texas Parks & Wildlife grants. The club now sits on roughly 65 acres.

The range complex includes 100- and 200-yard rifle ranges, 25- and 50-yard pistol ranges, one combination skeet-and-trap field, one combination trap-and-5-stand field, and four dedicated skeet-only fields. A hunter-education building added in 2003 provides a classroom, a member clubroom, and restrooms.

Membership runs through a linked entity, the Grand Prairie Sportsman's Development Corporation, which owns the land and facility; joining requires holding a share in that corporation alongside club membership, and applicants must be adult U.S. citizens in good standing with no history of violent crime.
