Norfolk County Rifle Range operates as a private club dedicated to competitive marksmanship across multiple disciplines. Since 1947, NCRR has hosted shooters pursuing everything from Olympic-style precision to tactical competition formats. While membership-only for some events, the club actively welcomes non-members to participate in its extensive public calendar.
Non-members can attend public events - check the calendar before coming. Bring your own firearms and ammunition. NCRR does not loan guns, sell ammo, or provide supplies (with limited exceptions for special events).
Norfolk County runs year-round competitions across these shooting disciplines:
Bullseye Pistol (NRA Precision Pistol) - Three-gun format: .22 rimfire, centerfire (.32+), and .45 caliber - Three stages: Slow Fire (10 shots/10 min at 50 yards), Timed Fire (5 shots/20 sec), Rapid Fire (5 shots/10 sec) - Winter league (two-gun format, Oct-May, $60/season) - Tuesdays at 4:30 PM - Summer league (.22 only, informal) - Tuesday nights - NRA-approved 3-gun matches monthly Feb-Nov (approximately 3 hours, takes 20 shots per stage per gun) - Indoor 25-yard range with reduced-target slow fire
IDPA (International Defensive Pistol Association) - Club matches with 4 stages - basic to difficult difficulty - Mix of scenario and standards-based shooting - Regular match schedule throughout the month
Dixie Wheelgunners - IDPA-style competition tailored for revolver and wheelgun shooters - Introduction program for those new to action pistol formats
ICORE - Action-oriented pistol competition - Monthly event with online registration
High Power Rifle - Structured competitive format - 2026 match bulletin and detailed course-of-fire documentation available
Rimfire (.22 LR) - Family-friendly pistol and rifle matches - 4 PM - 8 PM on scheduled dates (last signup 7:30 PM) - Both pistol and rifle divisions
Trap/Trapshooting - ATA (Amateur Trapshooting Association) registered shoots - Recreational trap matches running regularly - Pricing: $5/round per adult, $3/round per junior (under 18)
Tactical Shotgun - Match-style competition with 4-5 stages - Approximately 100-125 rounds per match - Online registration required, fee due at check-in
Juniors Program - Olympic-style instruction and competition - Air rifle, small bore rifle, and air pistol - Evening program (5-8 PM) - youth shooting education
