If you're buying ammo online and shipping to their FFL: - 10% of purchase price (first line item) - $10 per additional line item - $35 minimum, 10 case maximum - Standard eligibility check: $1 (immediate, if you have a CA DOJ profile) - Basic eligibility check: $19 (several days, for new profiles) - Certificate verification: $1 (if you have active certificate)
Fees: - $125 for first firearm - $100 for each additional firearm on same paperwork - Does not include DROS ($37.19) or sales tax - Nonrefundable if DROS is denied or undetermined - You pay return shipping if firearm must go back
Requirements: - You must confirm California compliance before purchasing - Come in within 30 days of arrival or pay $5/day storage - Firearms not claimed in 6 months are forfeited - 10-day waiting period applies - DROS cannot submit until firearm arrives
Required for all California firearm purchases. - $25 (pass or fail) - 30-question test on basic safety - About 1 hour to complete - $15 to California Department of Justice (separate, paid by you) - Retake free once if you fail (after 24 hours) - Certificate issued immediately upon passing
Some individuals exempt: military, law enforcement, CCW holders—contact them for clarification.
Both require: - Current, valid California Driver License or ID - Firearm Safety Certificate - Proof of residency (utility bill, lease, property deed, or government-issued license from last 12 months)
Handguns also require DOJ-approved lock. Long guns can use lock or safe affidavit.
All purchases subject to 10-day cooling-off period.
Elite Armory offers California Concealed Carry Weapon courses:
Go at your own schedule and pace. No classroom required.
You can keep your lane as long as you want after each hour if nobody's waiting, otherwise they may ask you to free up space.
Unlimited rental: one firearm at a time (handguns or rifles) for the posted fee.
Requirements: - Must be at least 21 years old - Groups of 2+ without their own firearm must demonstrate safe handling first - Must use Elite Armory ammunition with rentals - At least one person in the group must own a firearm

Elite Armory requires:
✓ Signed range rules form and liability waiver (electronic on each visit) ✓ Hearing and eye protection (everyone, even non-shooters) ✓ Firearms transported in cases only ✓ When sharing firearms: place in lane, shooters switch lanes—NO passing behind barrier ✓ Muzzle always pointed downrange, parallel to floor ✓ Chamber firearms only in shooting lane, barrel downrange ✓ Finger off trigger until aimed and ready to fire ✓ No holstered firearms without prior staff permission ✓ One-second minimum between shots (no rapid fire or double taps) ✓ Closed-toe shoes required ✓ No low-cut shirts ✓ Request RSO assistance if you need help (leave everything on bench)
Restrictions: - Shotguns: slugs only (no buckshot or birdshot), must have sights - Rifles: up to .30-06 (ask staff if uncertain about your caliber) - Pregnant women cannot be in range (lead exposure)
Elite Armory can ship firearms to other FFLs:
They'll need your valid ID, recipient FFL contact info, and pickup contact information.
Bring in a firearm for assessment. Elite Armory can either buy it outright (check on the spot) or put it on consignment:
