Equipment Costs Matter Less Than Skill A beginner setup runs a couple hundred dollars. Competition or hunting bows start around $1,000+. But as Dutch Olympian Sjef van Den Berg proved, a world-class archer with a $240 beginner bow outshoots a novice with a $2,440 elite bow. Build skills first, upgrade gear later.
