Full description and what we offer
Kitsap Rifle & Revolver Club has stood for nearly 100 years on the rolling hills and fir forests of Western Kitsap County. The club's founding motto—For Sport & National Defense—reflects its original mission: a gathering place where local shooting teams competed against Navy and Marine Corps teams.
In 2009, Kitsap County commissioners specifically recognized KRRC's value as a public resource. When county shooting restrictions were enacted on private property under five acres in the 1990s, commissioners asked if the club could accommodate the increased volume of public shooters. The answer was yes. By 2009, the County sold KRRC roughly 72 acres of prime shooting terrain in a proclamation declaring the club provides a valuable public service.
The Navy didn't give us our land—we gave theirs. Historical records show Camp Wesley Harris was actually established on land that originated from what old photos identify as the "Kitsap Rifle & Revolver Club Range Preservation."
KRRC is currently operating under court injunctions brought by Kitsap County in two separate lawsuits. These injunctions prohibit the discharge of firearms on the property—a restriction the club is actively fighting through the courts.
What you can do right now: - Archery - Air-powered rifle shooting - Paintball - Airsoft
Call ahead: The office is staffed on an intermittent basis by volunteers. Phone 360-373-1007 before driving out to verify someone is there.
KRRC operates on a merit-based membership model focused on quality over quantity. The club doesn't post online membership applications—new members must attend club meetings first to fully understand the club's current legal situation and long-term vision.
Membership Requirements: - Two-year prospective period for all new applicants - Annual dues: $100 - Prospective one-time donation: $100 - Minimum 10 participation credits per year (10 hours of volunteer work) - Unworked credits can be purchased at $25 each - Membership runs January 1 – December 31
All members must pledge to uphold the club's bylaws and the Four Commandments of Firearm Safety.
These aren't suggestions—they're the foundation of safe shooting:
1. Treat all firearms as though they are always loaded. 2. Never allow the muzzle to cover (point at) anything you are not willing to destroy. 3. Keep your finger off the trigger and out of the trigger guard until your sights are on target and you are ready to fire. 4. Be sure to have an acceptable target, know its surroundings, and what lies beyond.
Most "accidental discharges" aren't accidents at all—they're negligence. These Four Commandments reinforce each other as redundant backups for when we make mistakes.

For nearly a decade, KRRC has fought two court cases against Kitsap County over property rights. The club was granted grandfathered status when it purchased the 72-acre property in 2009, yet county officials initiated legal action to restrict range operations.
The club maintains an active blog and news section called "The SIT REP" to keep members and interested parties updated on court proceedings and legal developments.
