Established in 1929, Daniel Boone Conservation League sits on over 300 acres of land dedicated to wildlife conservation, nature trails, fishing ponds, and shooting ranges. Located on Highway 167 in Richfield, Wisconsin (5 miles west of Highway 41/45), the club operates as a members-only facility with specific rules about guest access and new member requirements.

DBCL runs structured leagues and matches throughout all four seasons:
Galactic Clays runs Thursday nights (Nov-Feb) with black lights and fluorescent clay birds - 5-Stand ($12 members/$15 non-members per round), Trap ($10 members/$12 non-members), and Hunt & Cover ($12 everyone). No league requirement, just sign up online.
Annual Events: - Wild Game Dinner & Fundraiser (February) - $90/ticket at Chandelier Ballroom in Hartford, features bison, elk, chicken, and alligator. Silent auctions, bucket raffles, gun boards, and grand prize drawing ($720 for full table of 8) - Winter War Memorial Match (February) - Mosin-Nagant rifle competition using historically significant 1891-designed bolt-action rifles - Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel Sports Show (March) - Club booth with eight shooting lanes - Kids Fishing Clinic (May) - Instruction for ages 15 and under - Annual Picnic (August) - Live band, games, food, and recreational shooting - Pumpkin Patch (October) - Family event for members' children - Children's Christmas Party (December) - Santa, treats, and gifts (running since the 1970s, 50+ kids typically)
Specialty Programs: - Appleseed Project - Nationwide program developing rifle owners into skilled marksmen - Hunter Education Classes - Traditional hunter safety education, registered through DNR's GoWild system - Scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP) - Competition for students in grades 12 and under - SASP - Nationally sanctioned youth shooting activity for high school teams - Biathlon Shootski - Winter combination of shooting and cross-country skiing/snowshoeing - Spring Turkey Hunting - Available to members on club grounds - Archery Deer Hunting - September-January for members (first come, first served)
New Member Process: - Tour facilities any day 8:00 am to dusk (non-members can visit without using ranges) - Attend New Member Range Safety Briefing (held 2nd Saturday of each month) - Attend General Meeting to finalize membership (1st Tuesday of month, arrive 6:30 pm for paperwork, meeting starts 7:00 pm) - Cannot use facilities until after Safety Briefing attendance
Membership Pricing: - Individual rates vary; spouse and children rates are reasonable - Immediate family (including grandchildren) can visit anytime as guests when supervised - Non-immediate family guests limited to twice per year - Members joining January-October: membership through end of year (statement sent in December) - Members joining November: receive balance of year plus full next year - December meeting is for members only (officer elections)
Caretaker & Facility Hours: - On-site caretaker available 8:00 am-6:00 pm (or dusk, whichever comes first) - Caretaker day off: Friday (starting October) - Hall rental available for members
Beyond shooting sports, DBCL maintains its founding commitment to conservation. The club features:
Main clubhouse includes wrap-around deck, main hall, restrooms, lower level with indoor archery and pellet gun range, and a bar open on league nights.
