Romios Outfitters operates a family-owned hunting business near Encampment, Wyoming, approximately 8 miles east of town at the base of the Sierra Madre mountain range. Bill Romios (Outfitter) and Bruce Romios (Guide) bring combined experience of more than 60 years to fully guided hunts across private ranch land and public hunting areas.

The outfitter specializes in seven different big game species, each with specific seasonal windows:

Elk Hunts - Archery season begins September 1st; rifle season begins October 15th - South Central Wyoming herds enter the rut during archery season in September - Bugling bulls audible throughout the day, most active at dawn and dusk - Mix of resident herd and migratory elk from high country summer habitat - Both archery and rifle hunts available

Antelope (Pronghorn) - Archery season: September 1st | Rifle season: September 15th - Romios Ranch features irrigated meadows, open grasslands, and sage flats—prime pronghorn habitat - Large Wyoming antelope population with quality hunting opportunities

Black Bear - Spring archery (April 15) and spring rifle (May 1) - Fall archery (September 1) and fall rifle (October 1) - Color variations on Romios Ranch include black, brown, cinnamon, and blonde - Hunt strategy uses private land baits, capitalizing on bears' post-hibernation and pre-winter hunger

Mule Deer - Archery season: September 1st | Rifle season: October 1st - Arid climate, diverse topography, and vast vegetation create excellent habitat - Romios Outfitters holds a longstanding reputation for quality mule deer hunts - Limited availability due to population management—contact for current opportunities

Moose (Shiras) - Archery season: September 1st | Rifle season: October 1–November 14 - Access to Snowy Range and Sierra Madre populations - Outfitter has knowledge of willow, riparian, and mixed shrub/aspen habitats moose prefer

Bighorn Sheep - Archery season: August 15th | Rifle season: September 1st - Access to both alpine slopes above tree line and lower elevation canyon lands - Once-in-a-lifetime hunting experience

Mountain Lion (Cougar) - Season: September 1–August 31 (quota dependent) - Hunt method: black and tan coonhounds to track and tree - Prime season: mid-November through early March with fresh snow - One of North America's most elusive trophy animals—physically demanding and intense hunts

Romios Outfitters hunts primarily on private land but is authorized through Special Use Permits to access: - National Forest System lands - Bureau of Land Management (BLM) property - Wyoming State Lands

Getting There The Romios Ranch is located 8 miles east of Encampment on State Highway 230.
