Rio Salado Sportsman's Club operates on Arizona Game and Fish Department land 7 miles north of Highway 60 (Ellsworth Road exit). Located at 3960 N Usery Pass Road in Northeast Mesa, the facility sits in open desert with zero interference—you shoot in 20-minute uninterrupted blocks from 7am to 5pm, 361 days a year.
The club maintains a facility built for serious shooters:
Eye protection required on all club property (even parking lot). Buy it at the range for $4, or bring your own.

Minimum age is 6 years old. All minors must have a liability waiver signed by a parent or legal guardian.
Not required to shoot, but membership pays off if you visit regularly:
Members only display their membership badge. Non-members sign a liability waiver before each visit.
The club runs specialized divisions for different shooting disciplines:
Practical Shooting Starter Course (PSSC) – 4-hour beginner program with 7-8 live-fire shooting challenges. Requires pre-registration at [email protected].
Women's Practice Matches – Monthly women-only pistol practice sessions for all skill levels.
High Power Clinic – Introduction to Garand, '03 Springfield, and AR-15 rifles. Learn how they function and shoot safely.
Junior Division – Dedicated program for young shooters with training, competition, and mentorship in a controlled environment.
Gun Safety & Marksmanship Training – Private and group instruction in partnership with Arizona Game and Fish Department. Covers rifle, pistol, shotgun, and home firearms safety.
Hunter Education – Arizona Game and Fish certified hunter safety courses.

Firearm Restrictions: - .50 BMG not permitted anywhere on the range - Fully automatic firearms allowed (must follow posted rules) - No targets with facial features or photos
Safety Requirements: - Eye protection mandatory on all club property - Ear protection mandatory on "hot ranges" - Close adult supervision required for all minors - Children under 6 not permitted on public or sporting clays ranges
