Parma Rod and Gun Club operates as an NRA-affiliated shooting facility in Parma, Idaho, with a core principle: members always have a place to shoot. Unlike ranges that go completely dark during events, Parma maintains dedicated West Pit areas (22/Pistol/Rifle) exclusively for members during major competitions and special events. The only closures happen during occasional range maintenance—and those are rare.
Members get access to multiple pit areas configured for different shooting disciplines:
- •West Pits - Reserved for members during events, configured for .22, pistol, and rifle shooting
- •Dedicated ranges for various disciplines (long-range, practical rifle, tactical training)
- •Virtual tour available on their website so you can see the layout before joining
The club hosts several organized matches throughout the year:
High Desert 3 Gun Championship (typically June) - 3-day event with 9-10 stages - All three guns (handgun, rifle, shotgun) used on every stage - Lunch provided daily for competitors; food available for spectators - Equipment divisions: Open, Scoped Tactical, Limited (irons), and Modern Optics (Stealth) - Cold range protocol—all firearms unloaded except under official supervision
Team Multi Gun Match - Competitive format for shooter teams - Match schedule varies by season

New Membership System: Parma recently upgraded their membership management system and gate controller for faster processing and easier renewals. Check the Membership Area on their website to join or renew.
The club maintains strict safety standards:
- •Mandatory eye and ear protection for all participants, spectators, and officials
- •Cold range - firearms remain unloaded except under direct official supervision
- •Safe transport requirements for handguns (unloaded, cased, de-cocked, magazine removed) and long guns (unloaded, magazines removed, cased or in cart)
- •Safety violations grounds for disqualification with no arbitration available
- •Accidental discharge policy - results in immediate disqualification
Full rules available for match participation, including specific ammunition requirements (minimum 9mm handgun, .223 rifle, 20-gauge shotgun).
