Powder Creek Cowboys earned recognition as the 2025 SASS Club of the Year—a testament to their commitment to cowboy action shooting excellence and community. Located in Lenexa, Kansas (historically Monticello Township, where Wild Bill Hickok served as town marshal), the club brings Old West gunfighting to the Kansas City metropolitan area.
Cowboy Action Shooting (CAS) combines Old West history, period-correct firearms, authentic dress, and competitive shooting. Shooters use single-action revolvers, lever-action rifles, and shotguns to engage steel targets in scenarios inspired by frontier life. It's accessible to both experienced shooters and newcomers who take safety seriously.

All shooters must demonstrate rudimentary familiarity with their firearms before competing. The range staff helps newcomers, but this isn't where you learn basic gun handling—safety first.
The club operates under full SASS (Single Action Shooting Society) rules and regulations. Membership includes access to monthly matches, match registration, online classifieds, and a network of shooters across the Kansas City area, Leavenworth, Lawrence, and Miami County.
