Knob Creek Gun Range describes itself as Kentucky's only outdoor shooting range, family-owned and operated for more than 40 years. Its 350-yard range allows shooters to fire pistols and rifles of any caliber; independent pistol use requires shooters to be 21, independent rifle use requires 18, and shooters 17 and under must be accompanied by a parent or grandparent. The range offers no gun rentals.
The range hosts a recurring Concealed Carry Deadly Weapon (CCDW) class and an Intro to Handgun class each month, plus a Hunter Education Range Day with the Kentucky Department of Fish & Wildlife. It is home to a monthly Kentuckian Practical Defense League (KPDL) competition shoot and the SASS-affiliated Knob Creek Gunfighters Guild cowboy action shooting group.
An attached shop sells, trades, buys, and consigns pistols, rifles, shotguns, ammunition, targets, scopes, and accessories. The range's Machine Gun Shoot event has drawn national media attention, including ABC News footage mistakenly used to illustrate Syria war reporting.
