Twelfth Precinct Pistol and Archery Club sits at 424 Harwood Road in Harwood, Maryland, operating as an NRA-affiliated sports club committed to developing competitive shooters and archers across all skill levels. The club's mission is straightforward: teach safe firearms and archery handling, improve marksmanship, and develop Olympic competitors.
The pistol range features 48 shooting points with distances from 7 yards to 50 yards. Points 1-6 are for casual shooting at varying distances, while points 7-48 use permanent 25 and 50-yard target frames.
Additional Pistol Competitions: - Monthly NRA registered outdoor pistol tournaments (2700 format) - Monthly .22 rimfire rifle matches - NRA-approved air pistol matches - Army-L matches monthly - Adult airgun matches monthly - Air pistol league (typically 3rd Sunday, September through May)
Non-members can participate in pistol leagues. No club membership required for participation.
The club operates two archery ranges:
The club runs a comprehensive young shooters program featuring: - Air rifle instruction - Archery training - .22 rimfire rifle instruction - Programs open to youth with parent or guardian accompaniment
Twelfth Precinct has hosted Maryland State Pistol Championships, Maryland State Air Pistol and Free Pistol matches, State Archery indoor championships, and State Archery championships.
The club is affiliated with Associated Gun Clubs of Baltimore (AGC) as an associate club. Members can purchase range badges at AGC and access trap, high-powered rifle, and muzzle-loader shooting at the Marriottsville facility.
New membership costs $150 USD annually (subscription period begins May 1st). General membership meetings are held the first Monday of each month at 7:30 PM (postponed if that date falls on a holiday or if Anne Arundel County schools are closed).
