Arlington Rifle and Pistol Club has operated continuously for over 80 years as an NRA-chartered organization and charter member of the Associated Gun Clubs of Baltimore (AGC). The club shoots at the AGC range in Marriottsville, Maryland—about 20 miles west of Baltimore City—at 11518 Marriottsville Rd, Marriottsville, MD 21104.
ARPC covers more shooting disciplines under one membership than other clubs at the facility. You'll find:
Rifle Shoots - Held 9am-2pm on various dates - 100-yard range at Arlington shed - Meet at 8am for setup - $5 lunch donation included - Restrictions: No armor-piercing, green tip, or magnum rounds
Pistol Shoots (Steel Plate) - 50-yard pistol range, 9am-2pm - Targets set up 7-50 yards - $5 lunch donation - No magnum rounds, AR pistols, or pistol caliber carbines allowed
Bustfest (Shotgun) - $15 entry or bring a box of clays - Shoot all clays you want - 2 Lincoln throwers on trap range - Lunch available for $5 donation - Ammo limited to 1200 fps, sizes 7.5, 8, or 9 per AGC rules - Bring your own ammunition
Tactical Steel Shoots - Action shooting range courses of fire - Designed for 2-gun and 3-gun practice - AR platforms preferred (.223/5.56) - Requires holster certification - Not for beginning shooters—static shooting proficiency expected first - No 300 blackout, green tip, or armor-piercing ammo - Pistol: 9mm, .45, .40 only (no magnums)
Tuesday Night Steel - Early spring to late fall (weather and daylight dependent) - Action shooting range - Setup at 5:15pm, shoot until dusk - Great for novice action shooters learning new equipment - Mentored instruction in dynamic shooting
Saturday Evening Trap League - First Saturday of each month, March-October (2nd Saturday in July/September to avoid holidays) - Check-in at 5:15pm on Trap #3, shooting at 6pm - Two rounds of trap per competition - Lewis Class scoring system (handicapped by ability) - Monthly cost: $8 (AGC members), $12 (immediate family), $6 (juniors) - One-time $15 entry fee for prize fund - Open to all AGC card holders and immediate family - End-of-year prizes based on four best monthly scores
Benchrest League - Third Sunday of each month, March-October (2nd Sunday in June for Father's Day) - Barnes Multi-Purpose Range - Two competition types: rimfire (50 yards) and centerfire (100 yards) - Five-shot groups at each of five targets - Time slots: Group 1 (10am-12:30pm), Group 2 (1:30pm-4pm) - Monthly score based on tightest group - End-of-year ranking from four best monthly scores - Minimum four months competition required for end-of-year ranking - Rifles must have 32X+ magnification scope - USBR targets provided - Competitors provide target frame
Carbine Clinics - ARPC mentoring program since 2015 - Covers: shooter mindset, basic marksmanship, barriers, movement, malfunction handling, holster work, magazine drills, target selection, transitions - Limited spots available—contact XO for details - Focus on practical and safe dynamic gun handling
Women on Target Program - Female NRA-certified instructors - Two hours classroom instruction (firearm safety and operation basics) - Two hours hands-on range time with variety of firearms - Course materials, firearms, targets, ammunition, and lunch included in fee - Register through NRA website
ARPC runs what the club calls a "First Class Junior Program" for advanced school-age shooters:
The junior program at ARPC is considered second to none among AGC-affiliated clubs.
How to Join: 1. Attend three ARPC events (shooting events, frame builds, or monthly meetings all count) 2. Be voted in by board and members at third event 3. Exception: Already an AGC club member? You can skip this process.
Annual Membership Costs: - Regular members: $40/year - Active military: $20/year - First responders: $20/year - Juniors: $20/year - Memberships run January 1 - December 31 - Renewal online via JoinIt platform or in person at club events/meetings
NRA Requirement: All ARPC members must maintain current NRA membership.
ARPC meets on the 2nd Wednesday of every month at 7pm in Memorial Hall at the AGC facility. Meetings cover:

ARPC builds target frames for AGC to sell, with proceeds benefiting the junior program. Members volunteer in an assembly-line setup to complete multiple frames in 3-4 hours—described as "true spirit of volunteerism and team building."
