Full description and what we offer
Frankenmuth Conservation Club started with a simple mission: teach hunters and shooters how to handle firearms safely, and protect the land that depends on conservation. That was 1939. Julius Yoba was the first secretary/treasurer. The club held monthly smokers at Fisher Hall with DNR speakers, gun auctions, and beer—for a dollar admission. They've been here 85 years for a reason.
Range Facilities
All facilities operate on a calendar-based schedule. Check their website for current times and availability.
Conceal Carry License certifications available through club programs. This isn't just a range—they handle the training side too.
"I began participating at age eight, and have been learning how to safely shoot trap, skeet, and .22 rifles since then…and that was 5 years ago! Helpful, patient instructors."
The club maintains a very active youth membership. They teach kids the correct ways to handle firearms and provide instruction across all disciplines—trap, skeet, rifles. One board member specifically noted: "I am impressed with the opportunities afforded women at this club. And the instruction that is available through their various programs."
Active youth hunting program. Beyond just range time, they're building the next generation of hunters.
Frankenmuth Conservation Club uses its property to provide habitat for multiple species and works with organizations like Pheasants Forever (Saginaw County chapter) and Ducks Unlimited. They've historically set up pheasant refuges—posting acres as off-limits for hunting to build wild populations.
The club also maintains a tree farm and has worked with Boy Scouts on reforestation projects.
They still hold the tradition they started with: quarterly smoker events. Food, community, DNR talks—the whole thing. These aren't small—they're known enough that members specifically mentioned them in testimonials.
