Midwest Tactical Training is a USCCA Official Partner that has trained over 20,000 students to safely carry concealed pistols for personal protection. Skip Coryell, the owner and chief instructor, holds advanced certifications from some of the country's top tactical trainers including Rob Pincus (ICE Training), Massad Ayoob, Dave Spaulding, and John Correia (Active Self Protection).
Michigan law requires CPL applicants to complete certified training. Midwest Tactical's one-day Basic Concealed Pistol License course satisfies all Michigan Public Act 719 requirements:

All advanced courses are $75 prepaid (except AR-15 at $60 pay-at-class) and limited to small groups for hands-on instruction.
Close Quarters Combat — 4-hour scenario-based training using airsoft pistols at Barry County Conservation Club. Covers OODA loop decision-making, close-range shooting, shooting from the ground, and impromptu tactics. Ideal for church safety teams.
Level 1: Tactical Accuracy & Precision — 4-hour course at Centershot Indoor Range focusing on rapid-fire accuracy at close range and precision shooting to 75 feet. Limited to 5 students. Establishes shooting fundamentals for long-term skill development.
Level 2: Drawstroke and Movement — 4-hour training on the three critical gunfight skills: drawing, moving, and shooting. Most CPL classes skip this. Skip has trained with top instructors nationally to teach efficient, strong, fast, and safe movement techniques.
Level 3: Advanced Handgun Tactics — 4-hour evening course. Team shooting, vehicle-based defense, carjacking prevention, active shooter response, close-contact shooting, and video performance analysis. 150 rounds of shooting from multiple positions.
Level 4: Advanced Handgun Shooting Drills — Covers Cold Start Drill, 5-10-15 drill, one-handed reloads, head shots on the move, the Eli Dicken drill, 2-yard torture drill. Video analysis of your performance.
AR-15 Fundamentals — 3-hour evening class ($60, pay at class). Safety, history, loading/unloading, maintenance, accessorizing, shooting basics, zeroing, and transitioning from defensive to range use.
