Full description and what we offer
The Western Wayne County Conservation Association operates a private club on 80+ acres at the western edge of Wayne County in Plymouth Township. Daily hours are 10 AM to 6 PM, with extended hours until 11 PM on Fridays. The club is open 360 days per year.
Memberships are $200 per calendar year (about 55 cents per day) plus a $100 initiation fee for new members. Members are required to complete 20 work hours annually—that's just 1 hour 40 minutes per month. Work hours can be fulfilled through various club maintenance and event setup opportunities throughout the year.
Spouses of members become "associate members" with full range privileges but no voting rights. Children who are 18 and full-time students, or in the military, can also be associate members. All WWCCA members must maintain NRA and Michigan United Conservation Clubs (MUCC) memberships.
Dues and work hours are prorated if you join after March. Already an NRA or MUCC member? You can join those organizations through the WWCCA application process.
The club operates multiple archery disciplines throughout the year:
WWCCA's Johnson Creek Regulators are affiliated with the Single Action Shooting Society (SASS) and work with the Wolverine Rangers. Cowboy Action Shooting uses single-action revolvers, lever-action rifles, and shotguns typical of the Old West era. Competitors dress in period clothing and shoot timed stages based on famous incidents and Western movie scenes.
Matches run monthly (mostly April–October on the 200-yard range, January–March on the 50-yard range). Five stages per match. Registration 8:30–9:30 AM with mandatory safety meeting at 9:45 AM. Cost: $18 members, $20 non-members, $5 juniors (16 and under), free for Buckaroos and Buckarettes (13 and under). Lunch included. Visitors welcome to observe (eye and ear protection required). Beginners can try it afterward on an open stage.
WWCCA runs competitions and instruction for juniors in archery, shotgun, pistol, airgun, and rifle—all focused on safety and skill development.
The club offers numerous education programs including NRA courses, Hunter's Safety certification, Women on Target classes, and conservation projects. The organization is dedicated to promoting the well-being of forests, waters, and wildlife.
Sighting-In Days, Women's Sport Shooting programs, and seasonal social events are held throughout the year. The annual Fast Cash Raffle (drawing November 22, 2026) features $300 drawn every 10 minutes and $500 at the top of each hour from 1,000 tickets sold at $20 each.
