Full description and what we offer
Kimball Rod and Gun Club operates on over 68 acres of diverse land south of Kimball, offering everything from competitive trap and skeet to casual rifle and pistol shooting. The club is open to the public and works hard to keep membership costs low and shooting hours convenient for people with time constraints.
Memberships run January through December and give you gate access and reduced shooting fees. The club recommends joining April through August before hunting season:
| Membership Type | NRA Member | Non-NRA |
|---|---|---|
| Individual | $75 | $110 |
| Family | $100 | $135 |
Family membership covers the primary member, spouse or life partner, and minor children in the household. All members 18+ sign a liability waiver and agree to club rules.
During April-August, sign up for membership during trap/skeet hours at the clubhouse (see hours above). September-March, attend the monthly meeting on the first Monday at 7pm.
The club coordinates several field day programs through area sportsmen's clubs—Kimball, South Haven Sportsman Club, and Rockville Sportsman Club. Firearm safety field days are held at Kimball Rod and Gun Club. If you've completed the online portion (age 18+), contact one of the instructors listed on the website.
The club runs two annual raffles:
They also host the Dennis L. Serbus Memorial Shoot (now featuring a youth shoot with 50-bird event, door prizes, and chances to win a new gun) and partner with the St. Cloud Rox on annual Sporting Clays Shootout fundraisers.
The club is home to the Granite City Gunslingers, a SASS-sanctioned cowboy action shooting group. CAS competitors use period-correct firearms (single-action revolvers, lever-action rifles, side-by-side shotguns, or pump-action shotguns) in Old West-themed courses of fire. They also run Wild Bunch matches featuring 1911 pistols instead of single-actions.
Matches run the second Saturday of each month April-September (weather permitting), plus additional shoots on any 5th Saturday.
"Becoming a member is a great way to become active in the outdoors, sharpen your shooting skills, and share experiences with others."
