Full description and what we offer
Cederick Jenkins founded 54th Gun Club in 2020 with a straightforward mission: teach the community how to own and carry firearms legally. He's a U.S. Army veteran (infantryman, deployed twice) who spent 24 years in law enforcement—patrolman, field training officer, undercover narcotics, narcotics investigator, and patrol sergeant. He holds USCCA Firearms Instructor and Training Counselor certifications, plus Louisiana and Mississippi state certifications.
The club is named after the 54th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry Regiment—the famous African American combat unit from the Civil War, featured in the 1989 film Glory. That historical reference sets the tone: this is about courage, service, and standing firm.

If you don't own a firearm, 54th Gun Club offers rentals for $50 that include: - Firearm (student's choice from available inventory) - Ear protection - Eye protection
This removes the barrier to entry for people interested in training but without their own gun.
Gunpowder residue, carbon buildup, and grime accumulate in the action and barrel over time—degrading reliability and accuracy. If you don't have time to maintain your firearm:
Disassemble and Cleaned – $55
Cederick understands not everyone can handle maintenance themselves, so this service keeps your gun running predictably.

Cederick's 24 years in law enforcement—everything from street patrol to narcotics investigation to sergeant-level responsibility—means he teaches from real-world experience, not just certification requirements. The curriculum covers both the technical (how firearms work, how to shoot accurately) and the tactical (decision-making under stress, situational awareness, conflict avoidance).
Whether you're a complete beginner, a gun owner wanting to carry legally, or an armed security professional, there's a class designed for your level.
