Full description and what we offer
Pioneer Gun Club started in 1940 when the eastern Kansas City area was still rural countryside. The founding members needed a self-regulated place to safely practice, relax, and shoot for personal enjoyment. That same location—now surrounded by the city—is still in use today, sitting on 50+ acres of woods and open space with an indoor range at the Brickyard.
In the 1980s, the club acquired a 380-acre property in Johnson County, Missouri and established the McBride Range, named after an early forward-thinking club member who deserved to be remembered. The club remains entirely member-managed and member-maintained—a working community of shooters from every profession and age group who contribute their time and skills to upkeep.
