Weeping Water Gun Club operates as a corporation owned by its members, incorporated in 1986. Located at 3590 Scenic Drive in Weeping Water, Nebraska, the club sits one and a half miles southeast of town and provides dedicated outdoor ranges for both pistol and rifle disciplines.
The club maintains multiple covered shooting areas:
- •Covered pistol range with movable target holders
- •Covered rifle range with target holders positioned at 50, 100, and 200 yards
- •Restroom facilities and 120-volt electricity
- •Access for members and their guests only
Weeping Water Gun Club hosts a full competitive calendar throughout the year. The 2025 schedule includes:

Cornhusker State Games Host: Weeping Water Gun Club is home to the annual Cornhusker State Games shooting events, including the prestigious Governors' Ten centerfire pistol match held in July.
The club offers a structured pistol clinic (usually late May or early June) running Saturday afternoons 12:30-5:30 PM. The program includes:
- •Safety lecture and equipment inspection
- •Hands-on instruction for all skill levels
- •Use of both .22 and centerfire pistols
- •Focus on fundamentals: stance, grip, sight picture, breathing, trigger control
- •Participants should bring 300-400 rounds of .22 ammo and a box of centerfire ammo

Nebraska's elite pistol competition, fired as part of the Cornhusker State Games in July. The match features two disciplines:
Precision: Six series of five shots in up to six minutes, one-handed at a bullseye target.
Duel: Six series of five shots at a turning target that faces for three seconds, edges for seven, then faces again—one shot only as each target faces.
Equipment options: .38 revolver, 9mm, or .32 pistol. Top ten marksmen receive a patch, pin, and certificate signed by the Governor.

New member orientation meetings are scheduled approximately once monthly (second or third week) at 6:30 PM. Prospective members must RSVP via email by the previous Wednesday to confirm the meeting will be held.
Weeping Water Gun Club's stated mission includes:
- •Organize shooting events among members and guests
- •Promote education and encouragement of organized rifle and pistol sports
- •Encourage good citizenship, sportsmanship, honesty, self-discipline, and teamwork
- •Improve safe handling and proper care of firearms
- •Promote excellence in marksmanship and competitive shooting
- •Provide a safe location for firearm discharge
- •Teach family members safe gun handling
The club is non-discriminatory and welcomes shooters of all skill levels, including juniors, women, novices, and experienced competitors.
The club offers multiple opportunities to prepare for major competitions:
Pre-Cornhusker State Games Events (May-June): - May event: Warm-up match to acclimate shooters to range commands - June training day: Safety lecture, equipment inspection, and marksmanship instruction - June practice match: Full replica of competition format
Board of directors elected from membership. Annual member meeting held mid-January at Chalco Hills (9:00 AM) with membership renewals and board elections.
