Founded in 1933, Northern Dutchess Rod & Gun Club operates as a member-driven organization for hunters, fishers, and shooters across the Hudson Valley. Located at 140 Enterprise Road in Rhinebeck, NY, the club provides facilities and programming for outdoor pursuits with an emphasis on ethical wildlife management and community engagement.
Trap & Clay Shooting - Trap range open Tuesday and Thursday evenings, 6-8 p.m. (March through October during Daylight Savings) - Cost: $5 per round for members, $5.50 for guests - Break clays with other shooters in a structured setting
3D Archery - Monthly 3D Bow Shoots from March through September - Rinehart Targets set up with realistic field conditions - Standard target range also available - Members can use the course anytime it's set up (donation box at clubhouse)
Pistol Leagues - Indoor Pistol League: 10 weeks starting early January, awards dinner included - Each week: 48 shots with perfect score of 480 - Three stages: 12 shots in 30 seconds, 24 shots in 90 seconds (4 positions: sitting, kneeling, weak hand barrier, strong hand barrier), 12 shots in 20 seconds - Silhouette targets - Winter .22 Pistol League: 10 weeks starting January, members can bring 2 guests
Specialty Shoots - Steel Plate Shoots (started 2014): Public events, .22 pistol or rifle only, scopes/red dots/iron sights welcome. Limited to 50 shooters. 2025 dates: April 13, June 8, September 21 - .22 Woods Walk Shoots: Spring and fall events with course through club woods trails, open to public with guided groups
Fishing - 3-acre pond stocked with rainbow, golden, and brown trout multiple times per year - Annual Trout Derby in April (open to public, family-friendly)
Junior Members Program - Meet third Sunday each month - Activities: shooting, fishing, canoeing, rock hounding, outdoor pursuits - Requires sponsorship by member in good standing

| Game Dinner | Annual event featuring venison, elk, moose, caribou, alligator, pheasant, duck, bear, bucket raffles, silent auction |
| Pancake Breakfast | Spring event with maple syrup demonstration and Russell Farms breakfast. Scouts in uniform eat free. |
| Trout Derby | April event, open to public, kids of all ages. Rainbow, golden, brown trout and other sporting fish. No alcohol. |
| Blood Drives | Biannual Red Cross partnership. Next: April 16, 2025, 1-5 p.m. |

| Veterans Sportsman Events | All regularly hosted club events free for veterans (previously dedicated single day event) |
The club hosts New York State DEC Hunter Education programs several times per year. On the land management side, the 90+ acre property operates as a working tree farm. Firewood is cut annually from cull trees and thinned woods, then sold to members. This maintains healthy forest conditions for the remaining timber.
All new members must complete an orientation covering club rules, range usage, and membership requirements. Proficiency check required for all new shooters.
