Full description and what we offer
West Falls Conservation Society was established in 1943 with a straightforward mission: "To create and foster a public sentiment in favor of conservation, sports and good fellowship." The club started exactly how you'd expect—a few shooters meeting in the back room of the Dog Bar, hammering out the details on a napkin.
The club runs multiple shooting disciplines:
- •Archery Programs: 3D archery, adult learn-to-shoot classes, Leo's Field Archers, and Leo's J.O.A.D. (youth program)
- •Shooting Sports: Rifle range, trap shooting, muzzleloader events
- •Youth Development: Scholarships and junior competitions through structured programs
- •Membership Community: 300-member club with regular monthly meetings and orientations
Currently on a waiting list. The process is simple: attend a monthly meeting (second Monday, 8pm), go through an orientation/walk-about tour, and wait for a spot to open.
Youth members (ages 6-18) can join faster—once you complete the orientation, you're eligible for membership at the next Monday meeting.
The original clubhouse from 1943 is still there on Bridge Street in West Falls, NY. They moved it down the hill on logs—literally rolled it into position. The club has maintained its conservation mission while staying active and relevant for over eight decades.
The club publishes a calendar, newsletter, and hosts sportsmen's education events. They also sell WFCS apparel.
