Sackets Harbor Sportsman Club operates as a non-profit organization dedicated to conservation, wildlife management, and promoting shooting sports of all kinds. Located in Sackets Harbor, NY, the club provides members and the general public access to multiple shooting disciplines on a handicap-accessible facility.
The club maintains dedicated ranges for: - Trap & Skeet – Year-round Sunday public shoots with emphasis on new shooters and youth - 5-Stand Sporting Clays – Multiple league options throughout the year - Cowboy Action Shooting – SASS-style competitions - Steel Plate League – 10-week summer league added in 2014 - Rimfire Shoot – Monthly public events on their open range day
Beyond recreational shooting, the club runs: - Hunter safety courses (firearms and bow) - NYS Pistol certification courses - Beginner shotgun instruction ("1st Shot" clinics) - Partnerships with SUNY Jefferson Community College for handgun training (15-30 students per session, 6 sessions yearly) - U.S. Coast Guard training facility use
The club annually funds at least two youth to attend NYSDEC Summer Camps for habitat and wildlife training.
They've partnered with local high schools to support newly founded NYHSCTL trap teams, work with the NYS Conservation Officers Association on youth duck and turkey hunts, and hosted a "1st Shot" event that drew 30+ shooters aged 12-75.
Membership available. Public range days held monthly with open shooting and rimfire events.
