Shelton Arms operates as an FFL Type 07 & SOT Class 2 manufacturer in Cary, NC (Wake County). Their main focus is custom AR platform builds—AR-15s, AR-9s, AR-45s—in short barrel configurations designed to be suppressed and run fully automatic. They don't build cookie-cutter inventory. You tell them what you want and they build it to spec.

They also manufacture suppressors tailored to your firearm, ammunition type, and use case (caliber, weight, noise reduction, fire rate). If you've damaged a suppressor baffle or end cap, they offer re-coring services.

Shelton Arms loads custom ammunition for shooters who need calibers that are hard to find or tailored to their specific firearm. Current offerings include:

• •Semiauto handgun calibers: 5.7x28, .50AE, and most common pistol rounds
• •Rifle calibers: 5.56, 6.5 Creedmoor, subsonic .300 Blackout

You specify what you need—they make it happen.

• •Important: Email or text first to confirm they're available. They travel for training and don't accept walk-ins. Once approved, send tracking number ASAP. Items not transferred within 30 days incur $25/month storage fees.

The instructor is NC DOJ certified and an NRA Basic Pistol Instructor with decades of personal training experience and former Airborne Ranger infantry background (qualified expert on pistol, rifle, and machine guns). His philosophy: "No Guns, No Safety. Know Guns, Know Safety."

$100 per person | 8 hours classroom + written exam + live fire

• •Range qualification: 30 shots total (10 each at 3, 5, 7 yards)
• •Minimum 21 shots must hit target to pass
• •Shooting typically at Wake County Firearms Training Center (Apex) or on private property if available
• •Range costs covered by course fee
• •Can split classroom across multiple days; evenings/weekends available

$125 per person | For new shooters or those improving accuracy

• •Covers safety, maintenance, ammunition selection, nomenclature
• •Semi-auto pistols, single-action and double-action revolvers
• •Instructor provides 22LR handgun + ammo; bring your own (100-200 rounds) if preferred
• •Fire minimum 3 different handguns
• •Open-book written exam

$125 per person | 4-6 hours focused on defensive carry

• •For those preparing to carry defensively
• •Covers clearing malfunctions, holster drills, shooting fundamentals
• •Starts with 22LR, transitions to your defense handgun
• •Includes field stripping and cleaning
• •Bring 100+ rounds (200 recommended) and a holster

$50 each (training students only)

Shoot iconic models: machineguns, suppressors, MP5, AR-9mm, AR-10mm, Desert Eagle .50AE, FN Five-seveN, and thermal scope setups. Bring ammo or request it (additional cost).

Laser Engraving — Fiber MOPA laser engraves metals and most plastics. Custom Glock slides, serial numbers on Form 1 suppressors, whatever you need.

Hardcoating — Type III anodizing for AR receivers (black only) or Type II anodizing in multiple colors. Aluminum parts as large as full AR receivers, titanium suppressors or most MSTs.
