Brokenlock Longrifles

Breaklock Longrifles Inc. operates a dedicated shooting range and clubhouse in Smithville, Ohio for members serious about competitive marksmanship. The club's mission is straightforward: "To carry on the sport of marksmanship in a safe and fun manner."

The club maintains a 300-member cap with current openings available. To join, you need:

• •Current sponsorship from a member who's been active for 2+ years
• •Valid NRA, GOA, or OGO membership in good standing
• •Passing background check ($45 fee, plus any additional jurisdiction costs)
• •Annual dues of $150 plus tax ($160 total)

• •Shoot 8", 6", and 4" steel plates from pistol bunker
• •Speed and accuracy from low ready position

• •NRA 25 Yard Bullseye Pistol Program (June-August, Wednesday nights 6pm-dusk)
• •Structured pistol accuracy competition
• •Runs on the rifle range

• •Monday Night 3-Gun (May-August, select Mondays 6-9pm)
• •Three firearm classes: .22 auto pistol, .22 auto rifle (10/22 style), centerfire auto pistol (optic or iron sights)
• •Rotating courses featuring steel targets, bowling pins, cardboard targets, and head-to-head shootoffs
• •$5 entry fee, shoot 1 or all 3 classes
• •Bring 3-5 magazines per firearm with adequate ammunition

• •Water-filled plastic jugs suspended on cables (gallon, half-gallon, pint rounds)
• •3 shots per round in 3 minutes, scoring rewards low scores
• •"Blanket shoot" format—lowest scorer picks prize first
• •$15 entry fee (bring prize for table)
• •Centerfire rifles only: .620 cal or smaller (black powder), .460 cal or smaller (smokeless)
• •Offhand position without sling or shooting sticks
• •Minimum 20 cartridges required

The club operates separate pistol and rifle ranges to accommodate different event types. Pistol range closes during Steel Challenge and Monday Night 3-Gun events.

This isn't a commercial range with drop-in shooting—it's a member-focused competitive club that runs consistent events year-round. The variety of competitions (from precision rimfire at 100 yards to novelty shoots to pistol speed competitions) keeps members engaged across disciplines. Events are affordable ($3-$25 entry fees), and prizes rotate through a blanket-shoot model where every participant takes home something.

The club also hosts swap meets and maintains scheduled meetings (resume February), creating a community aspect beyond just shooting.
