Middletown Sportsmen's Club

Founded in 1947, Middletown Sportsmen's Club has been the hub for shooters, hunters, and outdoor sportspeople in southwest Ohio. The club operates on a members-only basis and maintains one of the most comprehensive shooting facilities in the region.

The facility spans multiple disciplines:

Clay Target Shooting - 20 Trap Fields – Accommodate everything from casual rounds to large group competitions. Saturday Calcutta events with 25 and 50 bird options - 2 Skeet Fields – Course has 8 stations in a semi-circle with targets thrown from two houses, simulating live bird flight patterns - 5-Stand (Five Stand) – Condensed version of sporting clays with 5 shooting stations and 5-8 trap machines throwing varied presentations (rabbits, teal, incoming, outgoing, quartering angles) - Sporting Clays – Often called "golf with a shotgun." Courses set up for squads of 1-6 people across natural terrain

Rifle & Pistol Range - 23 Shooting Lanes under covered canopy - Distances from 10 yards to 200 yards - Members-only access

Other Amenities - 3-acre stocked fishing lake (restocked annually) - Cowboy Range for action shooting - Archery range - RV Campground for visiting members - Historic lodge available for rental (seats 100, $90/hour, includes full kitchen and A/V setup)

MSC hosts regular shooting competitions including trap, skeet, rifles, pistols, sporting clays, and cowboy events. Event results are posted online. Saturday Calcutta events for trap shooting are popular, with board sales starting at noon and optional long bird competitions.

The club emphasizes personal service and attention that larger commercial ranges don't provide. Staff participate in ongoing training and certification. The facility attracts some of the best competitive shooters in the region, making it ideal whether you're testing skills, practicing for hunting season, or learning a new discipline.
