Chilhowee Rod and Gun Club

Chilhowee Rod and Gun Club is a premier NRA-affiliated shooting club established in 1963, serving sportsmen and sportswomen in the Athens, Tennessee area. Situated on 80+ wooded acres, this full-service facility offers diverse shooting activities in a welcoming community environment.

The club maintains professional-grade shooting infrastructure:

• •Two pistol ranges for handgun practice and training
• •Rifle range for precision and distance shooting
• •Two skeet fields and trap field for clay shooting sports
• •Archery range for bow enthusiasts
• •Fully stocked lake for additional recreation
• •Clubhouse with meeting space

Members and visitors can enjoy:

• •Rifle and pistol shooting on dedicated ranges
• •Skeet and trap clay shooting competitions
• •Gopher shoots (precision rifle competitions at 100, 150, and 200 yards)
• •Archery instruction and practice
• •Black powder shooting
• •Hunter education classes (when scheduled)
• •Concealed carry training (when available)

The club welcomes new members with a straightforward process:

• •Annual membership dues: $100/year
• •One-time initiation fee: $50
• •Sponsor requirement: Current club member sponsorship required
• •Monthly meetings: Third Monday at 7:00 PM (Winter); Third Saturday at 9:00 AM (April-July)
• •Summer sessions include work days to maintain the facility
