Chilhowee Rod & Gun Club

Chilhowee Rod & Gun Club is a full-service, member-based shooting facility established in 1963, serving sportsmen and sportswomen throughout the Athens, Tennessee area. Situated on 80+ wooded acres, the club offers comprehensive shooting disciplines for all skill levels and interests.

The club maintains outstanding infrastructure across multiple shooting sports:

• •Pistol Ranges – Two dedicated pistol ranges for handgun practice and training
• •Rifle Range – Full-length rifle range for precision shooting and distance work
• •Skeet & Trap Fields – Two skeet fields and one trap field for shotgun sports
• •Archery Range – Dedicated modern archery facility
• •Black Powder Range – Specialized area for historical firearms enthusiasts
• •Gopher Shoot Range – Competitive 100, 150, and 200-yard rifle target range

Chilhowee Rod & Gun Club is an NRA-affiliated organization and operates on a membership basis. Annual dues are $100 per year with a one-time initiation fee of $50. Prospective members must complete an application and secure sponsorship from a current member. Monthly club meetings are held the third Monday at 7:00 PM, with summer meetings (April-July) held Saturdays at 9:00 AM followed by work sessions.

Members enjoy access to a fully stocked lake on the property, making the club an ideal destination for outdoor enthusiasts. The club provides reloading data resources and concealed carry information resources for members.

Chilhowee Rod & Gun Club offers Tennessee Hunter Education certification courses, ensuring the next generation of responsible hunters receives proper training. Contact Mike Burnette for scheduling information.
