Nagel's Gun Shop started in Homer Nagel's garage in 1942. He was a gunsmith who customized military rifles for hunters and shooters. The reputation he built in that garage was strong enough that he and his son, Robert H. Nagel, opened a retail storefront. Three generations later, Homer's grandson Robert Nagel Jr. runs one of San Antonio's largest family-owned gun stores.
