San Antonio Trap & Skeet

San Antonio Trap & Skeet (SATS) isn't just old—it's the oldest active gun club in the United States. Officially chartered in 1921 and operating at its current location since 1930, it's also the only shotgun shooting facility located inside a major metropolitan city.

The club is open to the public. Visitors are welcome, and you don't need a membership to shoot.

SATS specializes in four shotgun disciplines:

• •American Skeet - clay target shooting from eight stations
• •American Trap - singles and doubles trap shooting
• •Five Stand Sporting Clays - a hybrid course combining skeet and trap stations
• •International Trap (Bunker) - Olympic-style trap shooting

Appointment-only Tuesdays available with an instructor.

Annual Membership Options: - Basic Membership (Feb–Jan): $162.38/year (includes family members) - Life Membership: $1,623.75 (includes family members) - Senior Life Membership (65+): $811.88 (includes family members)

Per-Round Rates:

Non-members cannot purchase 10-round cards.

In 2013, USA Shooting designated SATS a Certified Olympic Training Center. The club partners with USA Shooting to support international-style shooting athletes pursuing Olympic dreams. SATS provides exceptional training facilities and certified coaches capable of developing new shooters and fine-tuning techniques for the nation's top shooting athletes.

SATS hosts an active calendar of competitions:

• •Multi-State Challenge Bob Roberts Memorial Trap Shoot (April 25-27)
• •Bird Hunters League (Wednesdays, July 30–August 27)
• •Toepperwein Skeet (September 20-21)
• •Toepperwein Trap (October 3-5)

SATS hosts some of the nation's best shotgun instructors:

• •Greg Massari - Certified Master NSSA Instructor
• •Al Scooler - Certified Level III NSSA Skeet Instructor (45+ years experience)
• •P.D. Parker - Trap singles, handicap, doubles, and USA Shooting Certified Olympic bunker coach (45 years coaching experience)

SATS is available for private events, including:

SATS is operated by a volunteer Board of Directors with 3-year terms elected by membership majority vote. Club Manager Bryan Roberts handles day-to-day operations.
