Established in 1933, Renton Fish & Game Club has operated continuously for over 90 years. Located 5 miles east of downtown Renton on 40 acres of preserved wildlife sanctuary, it's one of the oldest and largest shooting ranges in King County.

No membership required to shoot. Public access is available Wednesday through Sunday. Just show up, sign a waiver, bring eye and ear protection, and you're good to go.

Approved events can run 9 AM - 8 PM. Call ahead if you're unsure about closures or special scheduling.

RFGC hosts regular sanctioned matches:

  • IDPA matches – Last Saturday of most months, 9 AM - 2 PM
  • USPSA matches – Various dates, check calendar
  • Cowboy Action matches – Quarterly events (next: Jan 31 - Feb 1, 2026)
  • ASI matches – Monthly February through autumn
  • Trap/Bunker shooting – Ongoing league and practice

All matches are open to the public. Juniors compete in their own classification.

Membership is optional but includes range access, event discounts, and volunteer opportunities:

  • *Active members must log 20+ volunteer hours and renew before July 1.

Non-members can pay daily gate fees to access the ranges. Membership year runs July 1 - June 30.

RFGC is affiliated with the NRA and runs regular youth programs:

NRA Kids' Days - Free for members and non-shooting adults; $5 per child/$10 per family for non-members - Sundays, 10 AM - 1 PM (scheduled throughout the year) - .22 LR rifles provided; targets include steel, clays, and silhouettes - BBQ grill available for lunch - NRA-trained safety officers plus volunteer instructors - Parental supervision required

RF&GC Crushers Youth Program - Shotgun sports focus: trap, skeet, sporting clays - 5th grade through college - Monthly practices 1st and 3rd Saturdays, 11:30 AM - Free trial practice before joining - Part of USA YESS and WA YESS national organizations

As a sports conservation club, RFGC dedicates significant resources to habitat stewardship:

  • Fish stocking programs (partnering with Bellevue Stream Team)
  • Cavanaugh Pond management
  • State-wide conservation projects throughout the year
  • 40-acre wildlife sanctuary on club grounds
  • Eye and ear protection required on all firearms ranges
  • Waiver form must be signed by each visitor
  • Range safety officers monitor all events
  • Safety Committee oversees rule enforcement
  • Violations can result in suspended club privileges

RFGC operates through member-led committees:

  • Shotgun, Archery, Trap, Bunker, CMP/Hi-Power, Cowboy, IDPA, USPSA, Pistol, Rifle
  • Hunter Education (offered through club)
  • Conservation, Grounds, Membership, and Safety oversight

The club governance includes a 9-member Board of Directors and monthly meetings open to members.
