Full description and what we offer
The Beast Mode 3D Archery Tour (formerly King of the Hill 3D) happens at Tyrol Basin Ski Resort near Mount Horeb. This is not your local club shoot—expect steep terrain, lost arrows, and shots that will expose every weakness in your form.
Front Range - The entry point. Roughly 15 targets with elevation but nothing extreme. Most shots fall in the 30-50 yard range from the cone, with some reaching 80 yards. Technical scenarios in the woods mixed with open slopes.
Western Range - The beast. Steepest terrain on the property with 15 targets spanning 60-80 yards (some to 100). Brutal elevation gain and loss create shot angles that won't exist at your backyard 3D range. Come mentally and physically prepared.
Vortex Optics Savanna Range - For the distance guys. Open fields, 15 targets, historically pushing 130+ yards with most in the 60-90 yard range. You'll need good glass to find targets at these distances. Longest walk but flattest terrain.

Expect 90+ minutes per course depending on group size and arrow searches. Bring extra arrows—the terrain eats them.
"This isn't your standard 3D shoot. Anticipate missing targets, losing or breaking arrows, and extensive hiking to retrieve them. If you take yourself too seriously, this event might not be the right fit."
No broadheads allowed. Wear hiking boots for steep terrain; long pants recommended if you're hunting lost arrows (poison ivy is real). You must complete courses start-to-finish once you begin—no cutting back or backtracking for safety reasons.
On-site primitive camping available: - Tent: $40 per night (Fri/Sat) - RV: $60 per night (Fri/Sat) - Access to tubing hill restrooms
Nearby options: Blue Mounds State Park, Brigham County Park.
Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation (presenting sponsor). Vortex Optics title sponsors the Savanna Range. Pro shops Chase Outdoors and Jeff's Performance Archery participate.
Unlimited access to the practice range each registration day. Clay Pigeon Long Shot novelty competition on the practice range—a crowd favorite for warming up before hitting the main courses.
