Viola Sportsman's Club

Viola Sportsman's Club operates a multi-discipline shooting facility in Viola, Wisconsin—about 20 minutes northeast of La Crosse. Members get access to:

• •Rifle Range – Including recently completed 50 and 100-yard shelters (built with Friends of the NRA Foundation support)
• •Trap Range – For shotgun sports
• •Archery Range – Dedicated archery facilities

This isn't just a place to shoot. VSC runs:

• •Hunter Education Classes – Preparing new hunters with Wisconsin DNR-aligned instruction (separate Education Center with dedicated phone line: 608-627-1793)
• •Concealed Carry Training – Handgun safety and legal requirements
• •Youth Shooting Teams – KHS Trap Shooting Team and junior rifle programs
• •Competitive Events – Crow/Coyote hunts, New Years trap shoots, work days

The Education Center has been overhauled in recent years with a full kitchen and dedicated space. This facility handles classroom instruction, banquets, and training seminars. It's where the real instruction happens.

The club accepts male and female members. Grounds are locked—members only. Gates must be locked behind you (doesn't lock anyone out; members have the combo). This keeps the property secure.

The business and purpose of such corporation shall be to promote and assist in the conservation and propagation of wildlife, fish, and game. To also promote youth and adult outdoor education, shooting activities and conservation.

VSC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. They raise funds through:

• •Fall and Spring Raffles
• •Annual Catfish Fry (with Liberty Bar)
• •Yearly Banquet
• •UTV Raffle
• •Food stand at Viola Horse and Colt Show

These fundraisers directly fund facility improvements. Recent projects include the rifle range shelters and education center renovation.

Beyond shooting, VSC participates in local conservation projects including trout releases and works with organizations like the Wisconsin DNR, Friends of the NRA, and the International Hunter Education Association.
