Winchester Canyon Gun Club

Winchester Canyon Gun Club is a non-profit 501(c)(4) organization providing safe shooting environments near Goleta, California. Located at 6620 West Camino Cielo, WCGC has been the region's shooting resource for nearly 70 years, working closely with local law enforcement, fire departments, and the US Forest Service on firearm safety initiatives.

WCGC operates four separate range facilities:

• •Rifle Ranges: 50-yard, 100-yard, and 200-yard configurations
• •Pistol Range: 50-yard distance
• •Shotgun Ranges: 3 trap ranges and 1 skeet range
• •Archery Range: Target arrows only (no broadheads)

First come, first served. No reservations. Check weather before visiting—ranges close during rain and fog (humidity 90%+ blocks visibility of target berms).

• •Non-members: $20 all day Saturday/Sunday (9 AM - 3:30 PM)
• •Members: Free outside public hours; $0 before 9 AM and after 3:30 PM on weekends
• •Non-member guests: $20 (limit 2 per member)

• •Members: $10 per 25-target round
• •Non-members: $14 per 25-target round
• •Non-member guests: $12 per round
• •Junior guests: $6 per round (limit 2 per member)

• •Members: $0
• •Non-members: $10 per day

WCGC stocks ammunition for common handgun, rifle, and shotgun calibers:

• •12 gauge steel shotgun shells: $16/box (members), $18/box (non-members)
• •20 gauge: $18/box (members), $20/box (non-members)
• •Handgun & rifle: Prices vary by caliber with member discounts available

California Ammo Law Note: If you buy ammunition at WCGC and shoot it the same day at the range, no DOJ eligibility check required. For ammo leaving the premises, a Standard ($5) or Basic ($19) eligibility check applies.

Spotting scopes and steel targets available for rental during public hours. WCGC does not rent firearms.

WCGC hosts regular matches and competitions throughout the year:

• •Medical Training (first aid/emergency response)
• •Competitions & Matches (various formats)
• •Food Drives (community service)
• •Private Range Rentals (available for clubs and training groups)

All shooters must sign WCGC's digital waiver before using ranges. The club works directly with local law enforcement and forest service on firearm safety education and emphasizes safe, responsible gun ownership. Weather monitoring is strict—if you can't see the target berms clearly, the range stays closed.
