Larimer County 4-H Shooting Sports is a youth-focused shooting sports program serving the Loveland, Colorado area through Colorado State University Extension's 4-H initiative. This is not a traditional public shooting range, but rather an organized competitive and instructional program for young people ages 5-18.
Larimer County 4-H Shooting Sports offers comprehensive instruction and competition in multiple shooting disciplines, providing youth with opportunities to develop marksmanship skills, gun safety knowledge, and leadership abilities.
The program currently offers instruction and competition in nine distinct shooting sports:
Larimer County 4-H Shooting Sports operates through county-level clubs and competitions. The program culminates in state shoots, with top competitors qualifying for national championships. Participants progress through various skill levels and can earn awards and recognition.
The program is led by certified volunteer leaders and is governed by the Shooting Sports Council. Leader certification training is available annually for those interested in instructing youth. The organization maintains active communication with participants through WhatsApp notifications and a comprehensive website with competition results, calendars, and resources.
