Seattle Rifle & Pistol Association operates as a private club located in Machias, Washington, about 2 miles east of Everett off Highway 2. Unlike public ranges, SRPA restricts general access to members and their guests, but opens all competitive events to the public.

SRPA maintains four distinct ranges:

Non-members can compete in any SRPA match. NRA membership required to register competitive scores nationally, but not required to participate.
General Member Hours: - Rifle/Pistol Range: 9:30 AM to 7:00 PM or 1 hour before sunset (whichever is earlier) - Shotgun: Friday and Saturday, 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM for trap; pattern boards available outside these times - Archery: Daylight hours when safe to shoot - All ranges closed Thursdays, no exceptions
The club opens to the general public (not members-only) in September and October specifically for hunters to dial in rifles, handguns, slug guns, and black powder firearms. Cost: $15 per day per shooter (cash or credit card).
Membership Fees: - $75 application fee (credited toward initiation) - $175 one-time initiation fee - $175 annual primary member dues - $25 annual spousal dues - $20 annual junior dues (under 18) - $100 volunteer buyout (if fewer than 10 hours/year volunteered)
Eligibility Requirements: - US citizen or permanent resident, age 18+ - Valid photo ID (state driver's license, state ID, military ID, law enforcement ID, or US passport) - Current NRA membership required (must provide membership number on application) - Valid email address for club communications - Board approval required; applications subject to suitability review
New Member Process: - Applications accepted year-round but only processed in February - Membership takes up to 4 weeks after acceptance - Required safety orientation and release agreement before using rifle/pistol ranges - Orientation scheduled annually at renewal
Core Requirements: - Open bolt indicators required on all firearms at firing line and racks - Always point downrange; bolts closed only when muzzle aimed at backstop - Red safety lights activated during all cease fires - No one between red and yellow lines during cease fire (except going downrange to targets) - Club-approved targets only; no cans, bottles, rocks, wood, or exploding targets - One firearm on firing line at a time - Ammunition loaded only at firing line - Minimum 2 seconds between shots (except during competition)
Prohibited: - Rapid fire (except in competition) - 50 BMG firearms - Full automatic or simulated auto-fire - Shotguns on rifle/pistol range (except slugs on rifle range only) - Rifle ammunition (including 5.56/.223) on pistol range - Steel core, armor-piercing, incendiary, HE, or tracer ammunition - Cross-bows on archery range (permitted on rifle range) - Tactical-type shooting and tactical group events - Smoking, alcohol, and drugs on property
Member Responsibilities: - Direct supervision of up to 2 guests per membership - Inspect ranges for bullet strikes before/after shooting - Report any strikes to club President immediately - Clean up brass, trash, and debris after shooting - Wear club badge at all times (except during organized events/work parties)
Club-provided steel targets at 200 meters rated for all calibers below 50 BMG. Members may bring personal steel targets if: - Placed no closer than 50 yards from firing line - Only 22 Long Rifle, 22 Long, or 22 Short ammunition used
SRPA is an NRA-sanctioned facility observing all NRA Competition Shooting Program Rules during hosted events. The club is now an NRA Recruiter offering discounted membership rates to members. NRA score books available for purchase at events; scores submitted for national NRA classifications.
